Oakley Fatal House Fire on Norcross Lane

Raw Video: At 5:42 pm Friday, the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District responded to a report of a house fire in the 500 block of Norcross Lane in the City of Oakley.

Upon arrival, firefighters observed smoke and flames coming from the garage and as they approached the home, fire began to spread throughout the home and out the garage and through the roof.

By 6:15 pm, the fire was deemed out and crews were looking for at two occupants of the home. A short-time later, crews confirmed 1 casualty of the fire. The Oakley Police Department was also on scene providing traffic control.

CONTEXT - ECCFPD is a 3-station fire district covering 250-square miles covering the City of Oakley, City of Brentwood, and Town of Discovery Bay along with neighboring communities of Bethel Island, Byron, Knightsen, Marsh Creek area. With only 3 stations, ECCFPD utilizes aid from Contra Costa County Fire to assist them on fires or at times when all engines are committed on calls.
