A full house a the 5* Shelbourne Hotel, Dublin for the Blue Insurances Travel Media Awards gala event. The awards were organised by TravelMedia.ie and sponsored by Blue Insurances with the pre-awards reception sponsored by Amadeus. Over 170 guests attended including members of the travel trade and media.

The event was once again wonderfully hosted by Kathryn Thomas who charmed the travel industry and made it a night to remember.

The Blue Insurances Travel Media Awards is unique as it call on members of the media to vote. Votes were independently audited and managed by the Department of Tourism at DIT (Dublin Institute of Technology).

This is the third year that the awards have taken place and they were deemed by all who attended as the most successful to date. Michael Collins, TravelMedia.ie said "Thank you to all the media who took the time to vote and have their say and who helped the event to be the success that it was. Thank you also to our great sponsors, Blue Insurances and Amadeus for their great contributions. A special thank you also to Alex Gibson and his staff at DIT for their help throughout the voting process."
