Now we're on our way to challenge Urizen yet again, only now Nero is stronger. We've got a long mission ahead of us with a variety of enemies to fight, though it's not really worth me going in depth in text about. We have a new enemy type we encounter here though.

Baphomets are these flying ice-magic using demons that can get staggered really easily, but like to keep their distances and hit you form afar. They're mostly an issue when with groups of close range opponents that act as more immediate threat, so it's harder to focus on them. On their own, you can just rush them and rinse them. They can form a shield that deflects guns so those won't stun them, but virtually any other attack will. Leave them alone and they'll build up ice balls to launch at you all at once or cause icicles to pierce you from below.

38:15 - Urizen - This is the proper fight against Urizen. He's exactly the same as in the prologue, except we're expected to beat him now. Or more specifically, we're expected to break his shield which is protected by the big crystal that hovers around him and his throne.

Urizen doesn't have that many moves in this fight, but he uses a lot of them back to back and they can be tricky to dodge depending on the order he does them, which can be random. Also, it takes a lot of doing to take down his shield just cuz it has so much damn HP. You'll notice his attacks are mostly moves used by previous bosses, such as Artemis's hail of energy and laser beam, Goliath's big fireballs, and Geyron's time slow all return. In addition, he can summon blue fire pillars from below you and the shield crystal can turn into spikes and stab you if you're near it. He may also use a shockwave to push you back, which causes no damage, but means you have to get close to him again.

The thing that tricks all this up the most is Geyron's time stop orb. He can start spamming these only to immediately lob a fireball at you, making it incredibly difficult to dodge unless you get lucky and his attacks don't immediately aim for your current position. You can avoid the time slow, but it's probably the hardest of his attacks to avoid in general. I struggled against him, but it was also partly because I tried using arms in battle, particularly ones I hadn't used before. So that kind of screwed me over, especially when Tomboy makes you do a dead stop if you try to shoot with it active, which I was not expecting. Urizen's fights are probably the hardest in the game, but he's actually harder in the prologue where defeating the shield jsut lets you hit him so you can actually damage his HP bar, rather than here where the fight ends upon the first shield break. In the prologue, he'll regenerate the shield.
