Inua describes his conversations with men in barbershops around the world. In his barbershop chronicles, he argues that we are seeing a paradigm shift in the perception of black masculinity, and that if this isn’t openly discussed, we risk a dramatic increase in depression amongst men.

Born in Nigeria, Inua Ellams is a poet, playwright & performer, a graphic artist & designer. He is a Complete Works poet alumni, a playwright-in-residence at Soho Theatre, resident at the Southbank Centre’s Poetry Library, and graphic designer at White Space Creative Agency. He facilitates workshops in creative writing where he explores recurring themes in his work – Identity, Displacement and Destiny – in accessible, enjoyable ways for participants of all ages and backgrounds.
