Deep-Dive: Latency-sensitive industrial applications cannot afford to round-trip every message to the cloud. You need edge logic that functions autonomously. In this log, we demonstrate how to build a local data pipeline where one component generates data and another consumes it locally using the Greengrass IPC bus.

The biggest challenge isn't the Python code—it's the sandbox permissions. We document the "Rogue Insight" that blocked our deployment: Greengrass components, by default, cannot talk to each other. We show exactly how to configure the accessControl policy in your recipe to allow aws.greengrass#PublishToTopic operations on specific resources, fixing the dreaded "Permission Denied" crashes.

We also tackle real-world debugging using the Local Greengrass Console to spot syntax errors in message payloads that typically get buried in log files.
