The man who discovered the lifeless body of Mary Ann ('Polly') Nichols, the first 'canonical victim' of Jack the Ripper, lied to the police and lied under oath at the inquest into her death. He also presented himself as Charles Allen Cross; another lie. The more we look at Charles Allen Lechmere as a Ripper suspect, the more interesting he becomes.
