With our global sync finished, we entered a new era of PGR and with that new era has come a notable change with significant impact to the player base, especially f2p and low spending players: The Phylotree Research System.

I've been wanting to share my thoughts on the implementation of limited banners in PGR, but I wanted to give it some time before jumping into the discussion. This kind of topic is easy to kneejerk react to and take a very negative outlook upon. While I think parts of the system aren't nearly as much of a setback to PGR's gacha system as it may appear, there's still a lot here that feels like an extra layer of FOMO has been added to what is one of PGR's most consistent and transparent aspects: Actually rolling the characters and their equipment.

So this video goes over those aspects and what they mean right now and for the future of PGR moving forward. I wanted to have this video out sooner but a combination of my birthday, the holiday, and a brutal winter storm that wrecked our neck of the woods pretty good this past weekend caused a bit longer of a gap between videos than i wanted.

I'll have more vids coming very soon, and I'd really like to hear your feedback on the phylotree system. Is the sense of FOMO ramped up for you?
