How to knit 2-color brioche stitch: a Knittycat's Knits tutorial

Описание к видео How to knit 2-color brioche stitch: a Knittycat's Knits tutorial

2-color brioche pattern (Abbr: brk=brioche knit as in knit the 2 st together; brp=brioche purl as in purl the 2 st together; k=knit; p=purl; sl=slip the stitch purlwise; st=stitch; yf=yarn forward; yo=yarn over)

Designate the 2 colors you are using as main color (Color A) and contrasting color (Color B). You will need double-pointed needles or circular needles to do the 2-color brioche stitch.

Using Color A, cast on an odd number of st using the long-tail cast on method (link to video:    • How to do long tail cast on: Knittyca...

Set up row (using Color B): k1, *yf, sl1, yo, k1. Repeat from * until the end. Do no turn work. Slide sts to other end of needle and begin Row 1 as shown (note: the "yo" in this row is not a true yarn over; as shown in video, it just means that you keep the yarn in front when doing the "k1", so it creates that "brioche" st).

Row 1 ( using Color A): sl1, *brp1, sl1, yo). Repeat from * until last 3 st, then brp1, sl1. Turn work and start Row 2 as shown.
Row 2 (using Color B): p1, *sl1, yo, brp1. Repeat from * until last 2 st, then sl1, yo, p1. Do no turn work. Slide sts to other end of needle and begin Row 3 as shown.
Row 3 (using Color A): sl1, *brk1, yf, sl1. Repeat from * until last 3 st, then brk1, sl1. Turn work and start Row 4 as shown.
Row 4 (using Color B): k1, *yf, sl1, brk1. Repeat from * until last 2 st, then yf, sl1, then keeping yarn in front, k1. Do no turn work. Slide sts to other end of needle and start Row 1 again.

Repeat rows 1-4 for the pattern.

Note: this is not my own pattern, but a traditional brioche pattern. Here is the link to the 1-color brioche st video:
