100% improvised jam, the entire modular is controlled by my iPhone flashlight and a Arduino LDR sensor. Been exploring playing my modular synth with various sensors/external triggers for a while, and this is the first time It really clicked and I was free to explore/move/perform organically. In this patch the light intensity (flashlight closer to the sensor) controls everything in the patch, from note density, to opening envelopes.

I have to thank my friend Martijn from OBVRS who made the Arduino setup. We will continue to expand on the concept and eventually make it into a custom controller to use for live shows. The idea is to expand to 4 sensors, where each controls a "voice" in the synth. Possibly we also connect gyro mappings, so that the position of my hand can be used to open and close filters and other funky things. We also experiment with using a trigger on the floor that I can tap with my foot to change Tempi clocks/rates/rhythms.
