Описание к видео Conversation #1: International Relations, Development, and the Humanitarian Aid Industry

Conversation #1: Confronting Colonialism, Racism and Patriarchy in International Relations, Development, and the Humanitarian Aid Industries is a pre-recorded conversation that traces the inherent power imbalances in the development and aid industry which cause harm and undermine the dignity and autonomy of those it intends to support. Click here (https://bit.ly/3f5ffEq) to download the briefing note for this first conversation.

Our speakers include Ghazal Keshavarzian as moderator, Dipali Mukhopadhya from the University of Minnesota and Nimmi Gowrinathan as the panelists.

Organized by the CPC Learning Network, housed in the Program on Forced Migration and Health in the Department of Population and Family Health at Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health, this discussion is led by female scholars and brings forward critiques which have been marginalized to the fringes of international relations scholarship and teaching to the center of our discussions.

We hope that the Institute will be a vehicle for learning, information sharing, and taking actionable next steps. We are striving to create a space in which our discussions and resources can tackle hard topics while remaining a safe and respectful environment for evolution and growth among those who participate. Due to this sensitivity, please note that the views expressed by our speakers in each broadcast are personal and not a reflection of their organization's views.
