This was a beautiful, slushy and bluebird day in Perisher Australia, perfect for trying new tricks and still plenty of speed for hitting the large jump line. It has been quite a while since I hit jumps this size, and it was probably the most fun I had the whole trip! Some of the things I was keeping in mind while riding these jumps was making sure I had enough speed, being confident while approaching the feature, and remembering to pull my knees up to my chest if I felt like I may be coming up a little short. I think the best way to figure out the speed for a new jump is to just talk to some people who have already been riding it to get an idea, or even follow someone in if they will let you to match their speed. Remember that the landings on bigger jumps tend to be pretty long so it is better to air on the side of going a little too fast rather than coming up too short, if you do land on the knuckle it doesn't really hurt too bad but you do want to avoid landing on the flat deck of the jump. Let me know if you guys are planning on hitting some larger jumps this season down in the comments! Thanks for watching.
