Third day - third exercise block! The exercises in block 3 will improve your shoulder mobility and thoracic spine mobility. You need both for a correct upper body alignment in the saddle without a hunched back, hollow back or rounded shoulders. The DressurFit® New Year's Challenge 2025 is made up of three blocks that we repeat together over 10 days and then put together at the end. We always do the exercises for 40 seconds, followed by a 20-second break.
Let's go!

Exercise 1: 90 / 90 with Arm Sweep
On your side, place your upper knee bent as close to the floor as possible. You can press the knee lightly towards the floor with your lower hand. Move your upper arm over to the other side keeping the hand in contact with the floor as much as possible.
Improves shoulder mobility and promotes thoracic spine mobility for an upright posture in the saddle.

Exercise 2: Downward Looking Dog on Forearms
Feet about hip-width apart. Push your shoulders towards your feet and make sure your back is straight.
Relieves shoulder tension, stretches the shoulders and upper body and promotes correct upper body alignment and supple shoulders for an even rein contact.

Exercise 3: Prone Swimmers
Big “swimming-like” movements in a prone position.
Strengthens the back and shoulder muscles for an upright posture, better balance and upper body control in the saddle.

Exercise 4: Dynamic Twist
Arm rotations from a plank position.
Strengthens your core and shoulder muscles, stabilizes the shoulder joint and mobilizes your thoracic spine for more stability and correct upper body alignment in the saddle.
