The Indian Army is set to commence trials of the BvS10-Sindhu, an advanced variant of the all-terrain vehicle customized to meet the nation's requirements this month.

BAE Systems, the manufacturer, has entered into a licensing and manufacturing agreement with India's Larsen & Toubro Limited (L&T) to provide the BvS10 for the Army’s Articulated All-Terrain Vehicle (AATV) program. L&T serves as the prime contractor for the Indian market, with support from BAE Systems Hägglunds, the Swedish producer of the BvS10 family of vehicles.

The collaborative effort between BAE Systems and L&T has resulted in enhancements to the BvS10, tailored to fulfill the specific demands of the Indian Armed Forces. This evolved version is named the BvS10-Sindhu. The AATV program encompasses the delivery of vehicles from L&T's Armoured Systems Complex, complete with integrated logistic support (ILS).

The BvS10 vehicle showcased at DSEI in London this week is configured with a Mobile Short Range Air Defense system (MSHORAD), exemplifying its adaptability as a modular combat vehicle capable of carrying diverse payloads.

The BvS10's articulated mobility ensures exceptional maneuverability across various terrains, including snow, ice, rock, sand, mud, swamps, and steep mountainous regions. Additionally, its amphibious capabilities allow it to traverse flooded areas and coastal waters, facilitating the transportation of personnel and supplies.
