Indo-islamic architecture: The Jama Masjid Mosque | SLICE

Описание к видео Indo-islamic architecture: The Jama Masjid Mosque | SLICE

The Jama Masjid Mosque was built between 1650 and 1656 as part of Mughal Emperor Shahjahan's grand plan to establish a new capital in Delhi, Shajahanabad.
It is a large open-air sandstone and marble mosque, the largest in the Mughal Empire, with an area of 4200 m2.
This mixture of artistic influence between Mongolian and Indian allowed the emergence of a new style.
