Not long ago I posted a video and talked about how our trips to the wilderness are becoming more technical. Having numbers in a box. Or GPS coordinates in our GPS, tracking our every move. The discussion was about how I feel we are losing the sense of truly exploring. I am sure we are missing a lot along the way when dialed into the technology in hand.

So I thought it fitting to tell the story of our search for Cave 7. Very little, if anything, could be found on the web. Nearly impossible to find photos of the site and canyons nearby. We have had several experiences like Cave 7, long searches for sites with little to go on. In so doing much is learned. We have found places and learned about different areas that we would have never seen. I will admit it can be frustrating spending a few years and still coming up empty handed but when the search is over and we stand overlooking our goal with huge smiles on our faces there is no other feeling like it.

I hope that everyone could have such a special experience. It is about the journey, not just about the destination.
