[I am offering this alternative singable translation, which more closely matches the grammatical order of the Korean text in some of the lines than version 1. I also noticed that in the second verse, Sohyang is singing "Even in my mind/heart where the light is going out . . . " - and I have chosen to translate it as "Even in my soul where lights are snuffed out". Thus I feel I made a slight improvement over version 1 in this resepect.]

The Star is a song co-written by C.P.K. (Chea Do-hyeon; Hwang Byeong-Eun (황병은) aka 'Petra' (페트라); and Sohyang (whose full Korean name is Kim Sohyang (김소향)).

This performance is from October 1, 2023. It took place at the Art and Culture Center (제주문예회관) on Jeju Island, which is a popular resort, especially among honeymooners, off the southern coast of South Korea.

This is a song that appears to be thematically based on the following Biblical passages:

". . . the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it." (John 1:5)
