Linux blames Intel and AMD's buggy hardware chips crashing the OS

Linux creator Linus Torvalds is frustrated with with chip manufacturers Intel, AMD, and NVIDIA, over vulnerabilities that burden the Linux kernel with complex fixes. Many of these issues are theoretical, such as those arising from Intel's LAM (Linear Address Masking), which are causing speculative attacks despite the feature’s intention to secure memory integrity. Torvalds insists that the responsibility for these vulnerabilities should rest on the hardware companies, as they create the flaws Linux has to address. So is Torvalds right to be angry and throw it back at the manufacturers? How do other companies like Apple and Microsoft handle bugs coming from chip manufacturers?
