Arrhythmia Care at Vanderbilt Heart and Vascular Institute: A Collaboration of Experts

Описание к видео Arrhythmia Care at Vanderbilt Heart and Vascular Institute: A Collaboration of Experts

The Arrhythmia Section of Vanderbilt Heart and Vascular Institute is prepared to treat patients with the most complex arrhythmia problems. We have a breadth and depth of expertise that is hard to match, from basic cellular electrophysiology to life-threatening arrhythmia problems. The Roden and Knollman labs study the basic mechanism of arrhythmias, pharmacogenomics and arrhythmia genomics, with their ground-breaking discoveries leading to personalized care. We collaborate closely with pediatric electrophysiologists to treat arrhythmias related to congenital heart disease and our world-renowned Autonomic Dysfunction Center is a resource for patients with difficult to manage POTS and inappropriate sinus tachycardia.

As the #2 center in the world for orthotopic heart transplantation, we work closely with our cardiothoracic surgeons and advanced cardiac disease physicians to treat the sickest patients, who can be transported emergently by Vanderbilt Lifeflight helicopter or fixed-wing airplane. Within the Arrhythmia Section we are internationally known for research and hands-on expertise in catheter ablation of ventricular tachycardia and atrial fibrillation, left atrial appendage closure to prevent embolic stroke, and complex device and lead management. Our patients are frequently referred by cardiac electrophysiologists after initial attempts at catheter ablation have failed. Improving treatment of patients with cardiac arrhythmias is the mission of this extensive collaboration.
