The reason for the postponement is linked to strained U.S.-India trade relations, particularly due to India’s purchase of Russian oil.

-U.S. Criticism of Russian Oil Purchases Without Naming Ambani. The U.S., under President Donald Trump, has criticized India for buying discounted Russian oil, accusing the country of “funding Russia’s war machine” in Ukraine.

-Bloomberg notes that U.S. officials, including trade adviser Peter Navarro, accused India of “war profiteering” without naming Ambani, but Reliance is the biggest buyer of Russian oil.

--In a bizarre claim amid his escalating rhetoric against India, Trump trade adviser Peter Navarro has said that India’s Brahmin elite are enriching themselves “at the expense of the Indian people.”

-Navarro’s remarks made during an appearance on Fox News Friday came as he defended President Donald Trump’s decision to double tariffs on Indian goods to 50 percent, citing New Delhi’s continued purchase of Russian oil.

-India’s Reliance Industries Ltd. stands to benefit the most from China’s push to curb overcapacity from a gamut of industries, and the conglomerate’s own efforts to streamline its businesses, according to Morgan Stanley.

-Billionaire Mukesh Ambani’s company “is the largest beneficiary of China’s anti-involution focus across energy and solar supply chains,” analysts including Mayank Maheshwari wrote in a note dated Sept 1. “Reliance is going through self-anti-involution in consumer businesses and benefiting from China’s anti-involution drive in multiple ways – both of which are not priced in.”
