Loch Maree – 46km clockwise paddle with a wild camp for good measure. No Loch Fionn! Find out why.

Loch Maree, in the west of Scotland. West of Inverness.

The full route can be seen here at OS maps. The route was a circular (clockwise) route from the car park. I have tried to illustrate that where the route is close to the shore, it was where the wind had really picked up. Also, where the route prominently contours round the land, also illustrates where the wind was strong. Map link below.

The original plan was to paddle from Loch Maree, portage to Loch Fionn and wild camp at the causeway. But, it didn’t happen. Check out the video as to way.
