Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Meerut to inaugurate the country’s first integrated Namo Bharat Rapid Rail and Meerut Metro service. During his address, he emphasised the 'double engine' government's commitment to completing projects they start, contrasting it with previous regimes where infrastructure stalled. PM Modi launched a scathing attack on the Congress party, accusing them of 'naked politics' and 'indecency' during the recent Global AI Summit in Delhi. He stated, 'Congress has become a burden for the nation,' and criticised their conduct in Parliament for obstructing proceedings. The Prime Minister highlighted Uttar Pradesh's transformation from a region once known for 'gangs and riots' to a manufacturing hub attracting semiconductor factories and international investments. He also noted that the new rail connectivity would significantly benefit commuters between Meerut and Delhi, eliminating the need for many to rent expensive accommodation in the capital. The PM concluded by reaffirming that a 'Viksit Uttar Pradesh' is essential for a 'Viksit Bharat'.
