The TD-50DP Digital Upgrade Pack takes the latest TD-50 Sound Module, along with the PD-140DS Digital Snare and CY-18DR Digital Ride, and adds them to your existing V-Drums kit – giving you the latest in sound, playability and expression without needing to buy an entirely new kit. What you currently have is good, but the TD-50DP is truly exceptional…like comparing a smartphone from 2007 with one from the present day.

To show how the new TD-50DP upgrade pack can dramatically improve your playing experience, we decided to show what happens when you add the TD-50DP Digital Upgrade Pack to a standard TD-20KX V-Drums kit.

During the video, pro-drummer Oli Wiseman (Anne-Marie, Wilkinson) plays the same performance twice, using a click track; one take is recorded on the standard TD-20KX and another on the TD-20KX upgraded with the TD-50DP. Standard preset kits (kit no.1) are played on both the TD-20KX and TD-50DP. The video shows each take back-to-back, so you can listen as we switch between the modules, and easily compare the sound and playability. The audio of both kits has been recorded via direct outputs, then mixed to balance the volume levels of each pad, with some fair and equal EQ treatment to both kits. What you hear in this video was recorded live and you’re watching the unedited takes.

The TD-50 module, PD-140DS Digital Snare Pad and CY-18DR Digital Ride pad are also available individually.
