A condition in which the appendix becomes inflamed and filled with pus, causing pain. The appendix is a pouch-like structure attached at the start of the large intestine that has no known purpose.

Infection in the appendix i.e. Appendicitis is one of the most common surgical problems in the stomach. It becomes very important that we understand how to identify if we have an appendix problem or not.

The appendix is an organ situated between the junction of the small & large intestine. The length of an appendix can be somewhere between 2 to 20 cm. Infection in the appendix takes place when bacteria, viruses & parasites cause problems in the stomach and this infection gets localized toward the appendix.

Early symptoms of appendicitis -
Pain in the stomach
Low-grade fever
Nausea & Vomiting
Tiredness
Constipation or Diarrhea

Usually the pain shifts to the right side of the lower abdomen from the belly button. A classical symptom of appendicitis is severe pain in the stomach when your vehicle hits a speed bump.
