Near the iconic Faisal Mosque in the beautiful city of Islamabad, WOWPK organized a #breastcancerawareness session on Oct 13, 2021 in collaboration with #shaukatkhanum hospital cancer research center.

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, women from different age groups and different walks of life got together to learn about breast cancer in an environment of love and care. The event was a day full of women in the community coming together to support each other in breast cancer awareness and prevention. “It doesn’t matter at what age you are or what work you do, as long as you are concerned about your health and wellness, it just brings us together as women just to enjoy each other, support each other and learn the importance of early screening for breast cancer to save precious lives. We wanted to have a platform of awareness and prevention to help you better facilitate your life and I am glad that we were able to make it happen with support from our patrons, partners, and the amazing community fellows”

Dr. Humairah Nasir from Shifa International Hospitals Ltd. guided us in detail about the signs & symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment of #breastcancer. The brave Cancer Warrior, Amna Salman Butt, shared her inspiring journey of winning her fight against Breast cancer.

We also celebrated the 2 rocking years of Empowering Women by cutting a cake and celebrating our efforts and achievements in advancing women. October is also our anniversary month.
