Republic’s Honoured Collective The Belarusian State Chamber Orchestra (BelSCO) was founded in 1968, under the name of “Minsk Chamber Orchestra”, by outstanding musician Oleg Yanchenko (1939-2002) - organist, composer and conductor. Author of 6 symphonies, 3 operas, ballet and large number of organ works as well as movies soundtracks - Oleg Yanchenko received international acclaim primarily as a virtuso organist and improvisor. Among his organ works - the "Prayer/Prière" (1998) based on the theme by Italian composer of sacred music Lorenzo Perosi (1872-1956) is the only one that has been arranged by composer for the string orchestra.
To the 85th anniversary of its founder the performance of this powerful composition is dedicated.
