In most churches, the teaching of being "born again" is terribly misunderstood and taught incorrectly. Their explanation and definition of Jesus's phrase not even close. However, with literal study and cross referencing it is very simple to understand. It is certainly NOT what Christian pastors and evangelists say it is. This will blow your mind.

These are the cross references needed to understand what it is to be "born again". Simply read through and believe it as written.

Jhn 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

1Pe 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

1Co 15:50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.

Jhn 3:7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

1Co 15:53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

Col 1:18  And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.

Rom 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

That wasn't so difficult. Resurrection from the dead is the second birth, being born from the dead as Jesus was. This spiritual birth frees a man from both sin and death bringing righteousness and immortality. This is salvation. How did Christian teachers miss this simple truth so terribly ... a failure to cross reference scripture and look deeper than the surface?
