Mushell "Shelly" Smith, who works as a caregiver where Alex Murdaugh's mother lives, said Murdaugh made an unusual visit to the house on the night of the killings. She said it was unusual to see him at night. Days later, she said he tried to tell her that he'd stayed longer during the visit than she remembered.
