Stimulus Package- As Congress prepares to put together a package to vote on the next Stimulus House Speaker Nancy Pelosi Explains the Focus of this new bill as well as the Challenges that they are currently having. She goes on to explain that the cost for the Bill are expected to be big as well as they are looking providing resources to State and Local levels separately which is a different approach to the Cares Act
The Focus of the New bill are the Following:
1) Essential Workers, teachers, policeman, grocery store
2) Health care getting essential testing and making available
3) Direct payments
Current Challenges:
1) Food Stamp and Snap Program remain a challenge
2) Republicans do want to wait for a while longer
3) In exchange for the stimulus some want to see payroll Taxcuts and Capital gains tax cuts
4) There are current Members with the virus so they not only have to make sure the area is safe but had to put remote voting measures in place.
She also said a vote could take place as soon as this week.
