The Upper Moon 1 demon Kokushibo in his human form is more powerful than you might think! Back when he was still a human, Kokushibo’s name was Tsugikuni Michikatsu and although there hasn't been much information about the guy, we do know that he was the second strongest in the entire corps only to his brother during the golden age of Demon Slayers, the Sendoku era. We can also determine his strength based on his fight and all the statements that he made. When facing the top powerhouse of the Hashiras, he easily destroyed Muichirou, and he was able to keep up with the speed of Sanemi, which he felt nostalgic because he usually trained with a similar Wind Hashira to improve their skill back in the Sengoku era. But the most controversial fight was when he faced the strongest man in the whole Demon Slayer corps, Gyomei. Based on Kokushibo’s description, Gyomei, he hasn't seen any swordsmen “of this strength” from 300 years ago, not the “strongest”, and there must have been many swordsmen on his level that crossed paths with him. Furthermore, consider that the Demons Slayers from the Sengoku era is by far still the strongest, and Michikatsu was greater than the rest of the Sengoku slayers so he is definitely stronger than Gyomei in overall power, not strength. Despite all of this, he was never able to awaken amazing powers such as the red blade “and” the see-through world ability. The only feats that Michikatsu ever achieved is that he gained the Demon Slayer Mark and he processed the “second strongest” Breath Style, the moon breathing, which is the only direct alternative of the Sun breathing style.
