Here are five items you should never buy at the drugstore.

Toilet paper.

The Good Housekeeping Institute says it’s not cheaper, and most drugstore-branded TP was pricier than other brands in bulk sizes.

Diapers.

Reader’s Digest cites a 2018 analysis by finance site Pocket Your Dollar which found a popular drugstore charged more for diapers than Costco, Amazon and Target.

You can get prescription drugs for a lot less at stores like Walmart and Costco, according to Consumer Reports.

It’s because these big-box stores use the pharmacy to build traffic in their stores.

They make the real money in the other aisles.

But drugstores make most of their profits from the pharmacy.

Say goodbye to your money if you buy greeting cards at the drugstore.

The Good Housekeeping folks recommend any dollar store instead.

Don’t play around with your child’s safety.

The Chief Technologist at the Good Housekeeping Institute says all toys sold in the United States should meet the necessary safety standards, but drugstores aren’t always that diligent about that sort of thing.

And they’re usually more expensive.
