In this video, I compare the $880 Albion Next Generation Mercenary and the $539 Albion Squire Line Bastard sword. Please note this is not a review of either sword - merely a quick look that compares two extremely similar swords.

As far as I'm aware, there's three main areas that differentiate these two lines of swords:

1) Squire Line swords are made as blunts, but can be sharpened for an additional fee. Next Generation swords are made as sharps.
2) There's more attention given to fit and finish on Next Generation swords, especially in regards to the polish of the hilt furniture.
3) Squire Line swords have considerably simpler grip design and finish work.

I will be doing a full review of the Mercenary once I have a scabbard crafted for it. The Bastard will be moved on to a new owner as part of a trade that is in the works.
