So by now we have hopefully had time to really begin processing the Final Fantasy 7 Remake opening cinematic in our minds. One of the obvious changes from the original game, is that it does not open with the expected scene of Aerith examining the life stream leak. Instead we get almost two minutes of action above the plate of Midgar - something that was always hidden from the player in the first game!

Now, this might just be for the purposes of creating a cool contrast in the first cinematic cutscene, but it does have me wondering. Does this mean that the more open world nature of Midgar in the Remake is going to include the ability to explore ABOVE the plate too? It is certainly something I have been hoping for and this new movie certainly points us further into that direction!
