কালনা পশ্চিমবঙ্গের পূর্ব বর্ধমান জেলার একটি পৌর অঞ্চল তথা জেলার কালনা মহকুমার সদর। ভাগীরথীর পশ্চিম তীরে অবস্থিত এই শহরটি অম্বিকা কালনা নামে জনপ্রিয়। পঞ্চদশ-ষোড়শ শতকে এই স্থানটি উল্লিখিত হয়েছে আম্বুয়া বা অম্বুয়া মুলুক নামে। স্থানীয় দেবী অম্বিকার নামানুসারেই শহরের এই নামকরণ। জেলাসদর বর্ধমান শহরের থেকে প্রায় ৬০ কিলোমিটার দূরে অবস্থিত কালনায় একাধিক দর্শনীয় স্থান রয়েছে। এগুলির মধ্যে উল্লেখযোগ্য হল কালনার রাজবাড়ি, প্রতাপেশ্বর মন্দির, কৃষ্ণচন্দ্রজি মন্দির, লালজি মন্দির ও ১০৮ শিবমন্দির। ঐশ্বর্যপূর্ণ পোড়ামাটির মন্দির দ্বারা সমৃদ্ধ অম্বিকা কালনাকে আসলে “মন্দিরের শহর” বলা হয়।

সারা ভারতে ১০৮ শিবমন্দির মাত্র দু’টি জায়গায় আছে। আশ্চর্যজনক ভাবে এই দু’টি জায়গাই পূর্ব বর্ধমানে। প্রথমটি বর্ধমান শহরের উপকণ্ঠে নবাবহাটে এবং দ্বিতীয়টি কালনাতে। দু’টিই নির্মাণ করেছে বর্ধমান রাজপরিবার। নবাবহাটের ১০৮টি শিবমন্দির আয়তাকারে এবং কালনার মন্দিরগুলি বৃত্তাকারে সাজানো। সব চাইতে উল্লেখযোগ্য হল, নবাবহাট-সহ দেশের প্রায় সর্বত্রই বেশির ভাগ শিবলিঙ্গ কালো রঙের। কিন্তু একমাত্র কালনার ক্ষেত্রেই সাদা ও কালো শিবলিঙ্গের সমাহার দেখতে পাওয়া যায়।

Best Kalna or Ambika Kalna is a city and a municipality in Purba Bardhaman district in the Indian state of West Bengal. It is the headquarters of the Kalna subdivision. It is situated on the western bank of the Bhāgirathi. It is also known as City of Temples. Ambika Kalna is famous for its terracotta temples built in the 18th century.It is situated on the western bank of the Bhagirathi. The ancient history of Kalna is also a tourist place.

108 Shiv Mandirs. Built in 1809, the temples are constructed in two circles. One consists of 74 temples while the other circle has 34.
The Krishna Chandra Mandir (A.D. 1751-1752), with its 25 steeples, is another popular landmark. Scenes from the epics are depicted on its terracotta walls.
Lalji Mandir (A.D.1739) with 25 steeples and Pratapeshvara Mandir (A.D.1849)of the rekha style.
