Analysis:
In my opinion, Ujiyasu Hōjō is badass, but he needs a new moveset (along with all other C8/9 SW characters), condensed Samurai Warriors moveset (like Mitsuhide Akechi and Ginchiyo Tachibana in SW4), or a new weapon. This weapon has nearly no function at all: in damage, crowd controlling, reach, mobility nor utility. One can only try to make it useful. And I tried to map out his setup so he can get the maximum benefit out of it without having any extra modifiers going to waste.
Anyways, his R1 has decent damage backed up with a unique touch. His R1 will always ground and stun enemies upon contact of his kick, therefore he is able to land two successful grounded R1s, enabling him to net a 2HKO on generics without aerial penalty. With Aggression, generics are OHKO'd. However, he needs a full-hit to make it a OHKO and 2HKO, meaning he needs to land the Typhoon as well.
Generating combos is generally not too important in regular gameplay. With Chronos, his Air R1 combo generating becomes easier because without Chronos, maintaining his combo will be a pain (even in regular gameplay). If he does not generate enough combo but is close to 200, use JC with Dragon's Eye and proceed to either string out or Air R1 again.
For his standard, he has pretty easy time crowd clearing so Stamina & Impact will be his best tool to replenish Health and Musou. Don't bother looking at Alacrity or Absorption & Osmosis.
Notes:
When I meant 'maximum' benefit from his setup is that even though Aggression & Bastion may be difficult to generate compared to other characters, it is not impossible to generate 200 combos. Even if I replace Aggression & Bastion with Echo and Flak, his #HKOs are still the same, so it will be more beneficial to put Aggression & Bastion to enhance his capabilities. Echo does not assist him on generating combos with his Air R1, making it nearly useless for Hōjō to use it for damage or utility. Flak is near useless because R1 always put enemies on the ground and Air R1 will never outdo R1.
