To Make Ragi Upma

Sprouted Ragi Flour - 1 Cup
Water
Oil - 2 Tbsp
Chana Dal - 1 Tsp
Urad Dal - 1 Tsp
Peanuts - 1 Tbsp
Mustard Seeds - 1/2 Tsp
Cumin Seeds - 1/2 Tsp
Hing / Asafoetida
Curry Leaves
Ginger
Onion - 1 No.
Green Chilli - 6 Nos
Turmeric Powder - 1/4 Tsp
Salt - 1 Tsp
Coconut - 1/2 Cup
Ghee


Method
To a bowl take one cup of sprouted ragi flour.
To this gradually add water and mix the flour. Once you get
the crumble like texture, the ragi flour for the upma is ready.
To a steamer plate, apply some oil, and spread out the ragi
flour evenly.
Place the steamer plate in the steamer and steam cook for 10
minutes.
Once done, transfer this to a bowl and keep it aside.
To a wide pan, add two tbsp. of oil, once the oil is hot, add
one tsp. of chana dal, one tsp of urad dal, one tbsp. of peanuts,
Roast them nicely. Once the dal comes to a golden brown
colour, add half tsp of mustard seeds, half tsp of cumin seeds,

pinch of asafoetida powder, few fresh curry leaves and a piece
of ginger finely chopped and sauté it.
To this add one onion chopped, six green chillies slit, quarter
tsp of turmeric powder and one tsp of salt and mix it.
Add half cup of freshly grated coconut.
Add the steam cooked ragi flour. Just mix it all together.
Finally add a tsp of ghee to it and give it a quick mix.
That’s, it… Healthy and tasty ragi upma is ready to be served
nice and hot.
