I had an absorbent interview with one of the greatest composers of the 90’s, K7.
Anytime I learn about the different hip hop origins, I feel educated. Hip hop is an art, that derived from a place in time where music served as a duplicitous expression of graffiti, fashion, breakdancing and music.
Inking his first epic deal, K7 released, “Come Baby Come [“Mr. 3000” and “Suicide Squad”]” from his album Swing Batta Swing, in 1993, produced by Joey Gardner for Tommy Boy Records, featuring scatter vocalist, Camille. From that same body of work, KZ released “Hi De Ho”— It appears on “The Mask.
K7 released another party banger, “Hangover,” an ode to his previous work, that catapulted him onto the music scene. It’s currently receiving national airplay.
