Bassline as played note-for-note by bass player, Scott Thuness, in this Frank Zappa composition from his LP, 'Ship Arriving Too Late to Save a Drowning Witch', released in 1982.
*And Scott was playing through an electronic effect too--which I'm not using.
This song is dedicated to my bass playing buddy, Blair Barbero, who suggested doing this video.
It required only a few hours today to prepare a transcription, play it through and then record it this evening. It may not be ''perfect' but, I believe it's 'close' and the 'feel' is there.

The bass is a 2018 Rickenbacker 4003 Jetglo, with original pickups and Rickenbacker roundwound strings (45 - 55 - 75 - 105). The TONE selector switch is pushed in for the MODERN TONE. The neck pickup volume is 9 and the bridge pickup is 10, and both tone knobs are full . And the amplifier is a Marshall B 25 MK II and the Bass knob is at 3 o'clock, the Midrange is at 4 o'clock, and the Treble is at 5 o'clock. In addition, I designed and created a stainless steel 'cover' for the 'hole' surrounding the treble pickup--it does not affect the tone, nor the magnetism of the magnet of the pickup. Why did I create that? I prefer the 'string tension' at that exact spot, which is now accessible when playing finger style.
