In this Hyfindr Expo Highlights, at the 2024 Hydrogen Technology Expo, Markus Rupp from Busch Vacuum Solutions introduced the company's MINK MH series hydrogen recirculation blowers, highlighting their applications in PEM fuel cell systems. These blowers—available in two models, the MINK MH 0018 and MINK MH 0040, with recirculation capacities of 18 and 40 cubic meters per hour, respectively—improve fuel cell efficiency by removing accumulated water and recirculating unused hydrogen back to the fuel cell stack.
The MINK MH blowers utilize a dry, contact-free claw compression technology, ensuring durability and reliability in handling wet gases and liquid water droplets. The system is also hermetically sealed to prevent hydrogen leakage and can achieve a high differential pressure of up to 500 millibars, making it suitable for a wide range of applications, from stationary to mobile systems, including maritime, rail, and aviation.
Beyond PEM fuel cell applications, Busch Vacuum Solutions also offers additional products, including a rotary vane vacuum pump and liquid ring compressors for applications such as tank filling and emptying and low-level hydrogen compression. Rupp hinted at future product expansions, aiming to address broader needs within the hydrogen economy.
