The second video in our Birding Diaries collection. We took a one day trip to the Sacramento National Wildlife Refuge and the nearby Colusa National Wildlife Refuge. We had a few lifers - a Bullock's Oriole, Snow Geese and were able to observe the behavior of nesting grebe's and also their eggs!! It was a bright sunny day and we did wish we had gotten up earlier, but it was still a good day with the birds! At Colusa we were really late and hardly saw anything other than Red Winged Blackbirds.
