Static Tech Tutorial - Manual Electrostatic Separation of Trichomes

Here we describe an old technique to remediate water-extracted hash or dry sieve hash or kief using Tribo electrostatic separation. Using the differences in electrical properties of particles it is possible to separate stalks and contaminants from trichome heads.

This process is commonly referred to as static tech or static sift. This process likely originates from static separation in the Hindu Kush or Morocco where steel plates are used to separate trichomes from dry sift hash. Smaller modern methods use parchment paper and even CD cases lined with parchment paper to perform the polarization and separation process.
