Thank you for being here :) In this video, I visited sugi no osugi in Kochi prefecture.
As a lover of sacred trees, I couldn't miss one of Japan's oldest trees, estimated to be 2,000 years old. I took several trains to get there from Kochi station. After buying a ticket and passing through the shrine entrance with playful cats, I saw the awe-inspiring giant tree. Known as South Cedar and Norht Cedar, it has two trunks fused at the base, called "Married Couple Cedar." The South Cedar's base circumference is about 20 meters and height about 60 meters, while the Norht Cedar's base circumference is about 16.5 meters and height about 57 meters. Designated a Special Natural Monument in 1952, it is said Susanoo-no-Mikoto planted it in the mythical age. This spot, visited by Ryoma Sakamoto, is popular as a power spot. Explanations at the nearest bus stop are available in eight languages. I prayed for a safe journey, hoping for the blessings of this sacred place.
