Priorities of French Foreign Policy: Which Partnership with Asia?

Описание к видео Priorities of French Foreign Policy: Which Partnership with Asia?

As a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, France has a global responsibility and has been actively involved in the management of world crises, most recently in Africa and in the Middle East. France, an Asia-Pacific country through its overseas territories in New Caledonia and Polynesia, is also actively engaged in deepening its relationships with Asian partners in order to tackle a whole range of issues, be it global financial governance, climate change (in the run-up to the Paris 2015 climate conference), economic diplomacy or human rights. Mr Masset, who was recently appointed Permanent Secretary of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and who was Ambassador of France to Japan from 2011 till July 2014, will present how France intends to focus on these priority areas and to establish closer partnerships with countries in the Asia-Pacific region.
