Will the Jaguar pass its MOT? Yes it's MOT roadworthiness check time for the Jaguar X308, in this video I discuss the kind of pre-MOT checks that can be carried out at home prior to the MOT test itself.
This isn't necessarily a guide to Everything you can do to reduce the chances of failing an MOT, and is not a full "how to prepare for an MOT" type video, just a record what I did as a non-mechanic to try and reduce the chances of a fail.
Not everything can easily be home-tested on a car prior to going in for an MOT, but there are some things ("low hanging fruit") that are easy to check and remedy, which to fail an MOT for would be very annoying indeed - for example a blown bulb, split windscreen wiper blade, or a damaged tyre to name just three. In this video I talk about the straightforward checks I made on our 2002 XJ8 Sport, most of which would apply to any car going in for a test. I then head off to the MOT test itself and report back on what happened ...
