Construction Training Fund (CTF) is providing opportunities for a lot of people to make their career in the building and construction industry, including estimating managers like Chris Froggatt. Chris has had a lot of fulfilment out of his job as an estimating manager and has really enjoyed getting to learn the relevant technology and the variety of opportunities it can lead to.

The Apprenticeship and Traineeship Grant for Employers has lead to opportunities to be trained as an estimating manager in the construction industry.
This job could be right for you if you:
Are good with, numbers, facts and figures
Prefer working indoors
Can start and complete projects while being careful about details and accuracy
Manage your time well and work well under pressure to meet deadlines
Enjoy using computers for work

There are a lot of great opportunities at the moment for estimating managers within construction jobs. A typical working day may involve a variety of different tasks.
On the job you will often be:
managing and providing support to the estimating team or managing the documentation that supports the estimating process
liaising with other departments including scheduling, site management, tradespeople and other manager as required
overseeing the tender process and reviewing pricing from suppliers and subcontractors
examining blueprints to create quotes, estimate costs and ensure minimum waste when estimating materials
