Putin Fires Russian Minister of Defence Sergei Shoigu

The Russian government has announced the removal of the country’s defence minister by President Vladimr Putin.
The Kremlin says the decision arose from the desire to keep the country’s defence ministry "innovative".
68-year-old Sergei Shoigu, had been Defence minister since 2001.
He is to be appointed secretary of Russia's Security Council.
