On this travel family vlog, we share our time boondocking in Salida, Colorado. We fell in love with this area. We typically do not venture too far into a location if we find a good first spot, but we ALWAYS scope the area with the truck or Ross will scope it with his dirt bike. You never know when you have to come back to an area in the future and you always want to find better boondocking spots! Sometimes going further back makes all the difference with having so much more room or a spot with the most amazing view out your front door or window.

This area did not disappoint even in the first spot, you can see that there are 360 degree views of mountains! We did a lot of walking in this area to explore and to find more animal bones. It’s always fun finding bones and trying to guess what kind of animal it was.

The kids had a lot of room to themselves and lots of sticks, rocks and dirt! As long as there is dirt, there is endless play! We also did a couple of local hikes which I will share in a separate video.

As you can see in the video, I shifted into 2nd gear for the FIRST TIME! I know, pretty big deal!

We also got some pretty decent snow storms that ran through which the kids loved because then they can make little snow paddies or mini snowmen! Too bad it melts pretty quick in Colorado.

Definitely stop in the Salida/Poncha Springs area to camp if you run through because there is plenty of land for everyone!
