Learn To Identify Plants | ASTERACEAE (Sunflower family)

Asteraceae, commonly known as the sunflower family or composites, is the second largest plant family. You’ve all probably seen flowers belonging to this family (daisies, sunflowers, thistles...) but have you ever looked closely at their structure?
In this video, I show you flower head dissections to explain individual flower parts and structures. You will learn that an Asteraceae "flower" is in fact a flower head called a capitulum and it consists of two different types of flowers - ray flowers and disk flowers. And what is the difference between ligulate and ray flowers?
