L-ISA Elevates Sound at First Baptist Woodstock Church

What’s special about the recently installed L-ISA technology at First Baptist Woodstock (FBWC) near Atlanta, Georgia? “By seat count, this is now the largest venue in the world to have a permanently installed L-Acoustics L-ISA setup,” explains Tim Corder, Diversified. Director of Strategic Accounts, Worship and Performance Environments.

“First Baptist Woodstock has a very vibrant orchestra- and choir-driven service as well as a more contemporary rock and roll-driven one, and we were asked to help them reimagine a venue that would feel equally intentional for both of those very different styles,” Corder recalls.

With a frontal L-ISA configuration featuring L-Acoustics A15i, both staff and churchgoers immediately benefited from the added coverage and intimacy created by the system. FBWC’s Production Director Josh Belokonny is on the frontlines of each performance and service. “When you critically listen to audio somewhere for several years, it’s amazing to walk the room and have it sound completely different overnight,” he says.

“There is a great excitement and peace of mind knowing that what we're able to produce now is a lot more accurate and representative of what's happening on stage...And it's consistent throughout the whole sanctuary, which provides an opportunity for everyone to be way more unified and to have this sense of we're all in this moment of worship together.”
