Today we are upgrading Layton’s 2012 Ford F-150 stereo to a new Kenwood unit that has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. We’re also using the iDataLink Maestro RR unit to retain existing features as well as add some new ones. Phil demonstrates how to disassemble the dash, assemble the kit, flash the module, and give some tips along the way. This is a very worthwhile upgrade for these trucks, and really brings them up to modern standards while ditching the poorly designed SYNC system, as well as making use of the original features of the truck that are desirable.
