What is it like to take a ride in an autonomous bus? In this #TalkingPoint Extra, we try out MooBus, an electric self-driving bus deployed by Singapore company MooVita. Launched on 9 January, 2023, the free shuttle ferries passengers from King Albert Park MRT and around Ngee Ann Polytechnic (NP).

To get a 360-degree view of its surroundings, MooBus relies on 16 sensors like cameras, radars and light detection and ranging sensors (LIDARs). Algorithms help calculate and decide the path.

This is MooVita’s first commercial operation in Singapore, which could be a springboard to more fleets of autonomous buses in the future.
